‘Maungakawa Village’ is a playful naive landscape depicting a community of properties near the town of Cambridge, on the North Island of New Zealand.
The painting gives prominence to the mountain which gives the area its name. This painting also provides the main graphic for a ‘village’ sign which the community funded themselves to mark the ‘entrance’ into the Maungakawa Village.
